Then you need to get your site designed and template in place. You think whether to consider having an ecommerce platform or not. This will be a good idea for a retail business. If you want to go with an ecommerce platform, you can try free software like, oscommerce, magentocommerce, zencart or cubecart. Paid ecommerce like 1shoppingcart, xcart, or volusion are also the things that you may want to try. Depending on the amount of customization you need you may choose to stick with something like 1shoppingcart. Yes, that may cost you a little more, yet this will save you aving to purchase a SSL certificate for secure transactions, and also having to pay more hosting costs for securely storing customer credit card info. You will probably want to get a open source ecommerce platform and build from that if you need to do a lot of customization. Once you have these things in place you are ready to go online with your business and start making money.
